Did you know that Oulu is the winter cycling mecca of the world and that the Winter Cycling Federation was founded in Oulu?

The local people of Oulu ride bikes all year round, even in snow and freezing weather. It is quite common for children to go to school and for their hobbies by bike. Oulu has excellent cycle paths and the terrain is flat, so pedaling is easy.

Today we explore the Oulujoki river delta area on fat bikes. Fat bikes are very popular in Finland. The fat bike has wider tires than a regular bike and is easy to ride even in the snow. We drive at a leisurely pace, enjoying the scenery. We may even ride our bikes to the frozen sea ice. In middle of the program we make a stop to drink hot juice.

Time and duration: Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 9-11 AM. Duration 2 hours.

Starting point: Oulu Market Square. Detailed instructions will be informed to the participants.

Included: fatbike, helmet, guide, warm juice.

Wear weatherproof and comfortable clothing suitable for biking. Remember it is windy in Oulu – please wear a beanie, scarf, gloves, windproof jacket, flexible pants and warm underlayer.

Program is organized when there is minimum of 4 participants. If minimum number is not met, we will refund the entire fee.

Minimum and maximum number of participants and cancellation of the program by Saaga Travel

Program is organized when there is minimum of 4 participants. If minimum number is not met, we will refund the entire fee.

Deadline for bookings is noon on Thursday March 23, 2023.

If sufficient number of participants is not met by 12 noon on Thursday before the departure date, Saaga Travel will cancel the program. In this case, we will notify you immediately of the cancellation of the program and we will refund the payment in full.

Cancellation of the program by the customer

The passenger has the right to cancel the program. If the customer cancels the program already purchased no later than three days before departure, we will deduct 15 euros as a cancellation fee and refund the rest of the amount paid. If canceled up to two days before date of departure, no fee will be refunded. We recommend to have travel insurance, which covers cancellation and accidents and illnesses caused during the trip.
