Welcome to a day trip to Raahe! Here are some tips for spending a nice day enjoying the best of summer Raahe. Everything is within walking distance, but if you want to move faster, rent a bike!
EXPERIENCE THE RAAHE ARCHIPELAGO, OUTDOOR DESTINATION OF THE YEAR 2016
Go for an Island Hopping -cruise in Raahe archipelago or paddling and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) in nearby waters
The compact city archipelago is only 20 minutes away from the city center and Old Raahe. On Thursdays at 12.00 there is e.g. Island Hopping trip that lasts approx. 3 hours. As the name implies, we hop from one island to another and explore the three main islands of the Raahe archipelago, two of which are also visited by land. The price of the trip includes sausage frying and picnic lunch on one of the islands in the archipelago. On Thursdays, also a slightly shorter archipelago cruise will take place at 1 p.m.
Professional guides can introduce you to the secrets of water sports and take you on kayaking and canoeing trips to the archipelago and nearby waters.

- Lappis equipment rental in Pikkulahti paddling centre: canoes, kayaks, SUP boards and fatbikes.
- Lappis guided kayaking trip on Thursdays 30.6.-4.8.2022 at 12.00-13.30. Price 25 €/person, minimum 2 participants. Bookings in advance by Wednesday evening 6 PM by email [email protected].

CULTURE AND COFFEE IN OLD RAAHE
Walk the narrow streets, visit the museums and the foundry, enjoy coffee and refreshing ice cream.
As you enter the quarters of Old Raahe, time stops, the sounds soften, the pastel and down-to-earth colors of the houses, together with the gray granite and blue sky of the stone streets, create a unique color chart that tells of the passage of time in one of Finland's best-preserved 19th century wooden towns.
Guided walk in Raahe Old Town
Old Raahe walking tours on Thursdays July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28, 2022 at 3 p.m. The duration of the tour is about 1 hour. The starting point is Myhrberg Park next to Museonranta, Rantakatu 36. Tours (in Finnish) are free for participants and do not require pre-registration.
Alternatively, tour the old town with Glopas application . The application can be downloaded to smartphones for free.

- Packhouse museum Rantakatu 35, Mon-Fri 11-17., Sat-Sun 12-16. Free admission on Saturdays.
- Sovelius House, Rantakatu 36, 25.6.-7.8. Mon-Fri 11-17, Sat-Sun 12-16. The visit must be booked in advance here.
- Old Pharmacy, Kauppakatu 31, open 25.6.-7.8. Mon-Fri 11-17, Sat-Sun 12-16
- About 1 km from the Old Raahe: the Crown Granary Museum, residence of the world’s oldest diving suit, addr. Merikatu 10. Open Mon-Fri 11-17, Sat-Sun 12-16. Free admission on Saturdays.

Visit the old foundry at Raahen Taitopaja (Raahe Skills Workshop)
Raahen Taitopaja offers experiences in the unique environment of the foundry founded in 1955. You can find
- himmeli exhibition with about 150 different himmeli and himmeli product packages. Himmeli is a traditional Northern European mobile made from reeds or straw.
- foundry tradition, bronze casting demonstrations (on request) and bronze products
- the workshop also makes porcelain Raahe dogs, candles, glassware, traditional and modern himmeli / mobiles.
The workshop is located about a 10 min walk from the center. The workshop is open in the summer from Tue-Thu 28 June to 4 August from 11:30 to 16:30 and at other times by appointment. Read more here.
Enjoy delicious local food and coffee is drunk from cute rose cups. Shopping in boutiques.
Sit down for a moment, have a coffee and watch the swallows fly between the houses and listen to the life pulsating happily.

Further information about the trip
This is a guaranteed departure that is implemented without a minimum number of participants. The price is the price of a return ticket. The European Disability Card holder's assistant travels on our tour bus free of charge when the card has an A mark. The cardholder pays for his/her own trip.
If you have a larger group (5 people or more), please buy tickets or let us know in advance the night before departure by 6.00 pm on 08 655 5100 so that we will be able to book a sufficiently large bus. Reserve your own seat also for a child aged 0-3.
Terms and conditions
1. Guaranteed departure and Saaga Travel's right to cancel the trip
This say trip to Raahe is operated as a guaranteed departure. If there is one customer, the route will be operated.
If there are no passengers from Oulu to Raahe, there will be no return trip from Raahe to Oulu.
We recommend to book the trip by 18.00 the night before the departure in order to be able to estimate the number of passengers and to determine the right size of the bus.
2. The customer's right to cancel a trip they have already purchased
The customer has the right to cancel the booking. If a trip already purchased is canceled by the customer no later than three days before departure, we will withhold a cancellation fee of EUR 10 and refund the balance of the amount paid.
If canceled by the customer up to two days before date of departure, no fee will be refunded.
We recommend to have a travel insurance, which covers cancellation and accidents and illnesses during the trip.
