The service for the 2022-23 season has ended. Skibus from Oulu to Syöte again in the 2023-24 season!

Join our day trip to Syöte to enjoy the winter and outdoor activities of your choice: down hill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, winter fatbiking, snowshoeing or just admiring the views! In the area you will find well-kept slopes, an extensive network of XC skiing trails, varied multi-purpose off-road routes, several equipment rental shops and a high-quality restaurant offer.

Saaga Travel Skibus from Oulu to Syöte operates during the skiing season. You can reach Ski Resort Pikku-Syöte, Ski resort Iso-Syöte and Syöte National Park Visitor Centre by the Skibus.

This is a guaranteed departure, with no minimum participant requirements. However, we recommend to book your tickets the night before the departure before 18.00 so that we can choose the right sized bus.

You can book lift tickets and equipment rental for Ski Resort Pikku-Syöte and Ski Resort Iso-Syöte through us at a discounted price. Redeem the lift tickets and rental equipment by showing your mobile Skibus ticket. You can also choose a one-way trip that is the same price as a return ticket.

Downhill skiing and snowboarding

Pikku-Syöte

All the slopes are rated blue, as in easy slopes. A route tip for the off slope enthusiasts: go down from the west peak southwards into the forest. The route ends on a ski track that goes around the Pikku-Syöte fell. Following the track you’ll easily find your way to the west slope station. Read more about Ski Resort Pikku-Syöte

Ski Resort Iso-Syöte

In the winter time, Iso-Syöte is a ski resort and a travel destination that the whole family can enjoy! Iso-Syöte ski area is located in the southernmost fell of Finland where you can ski on 17 perfectly groomed slopes. Whether you are a first-time skier or an advanced pro skier, there is a slope for you. Cross-country skiing

The hilly Syöte region has more than 120km cross-country skiing trails going through beautiful nature, mainly inside the Syöte National Park. They’re waiting to be enjoyed by both traditional style and skating skiers. Read more about Syöte skiing trails.

Winter trails in Syöte National Park

Syöte National Park's winter trails start from Syöte Visitor Centre. The winter trails are suitable for fatbiking, snowshoeing, back country skiing and are suitable for those with already some experience in outdoor activities. The trails are levelled several times a week.

The winter trails in the national park are multipurpose trails, where you can go by bike, snowshoes, skiing or skin based skis. You should not walk on the trails on normal shoes if it damages the trail surface. Don't walk or cycle on skiing tracks. Read more about the Syöte National Park winter trails. 

Syöte Visitor Centre

Syöte Visitor Centre is a handsome log castle by the gates of Syöte National Park. At the permanent exhibition, you can sense the presence of history and hear the whispering spruces. The exhibition presents the history of the interaction between man and nature in the backwoods of Syöte. While sipping a cup of coffee, you can admire the snow-crowned spruces or relax watching nature films. With the help of the up-to-date hiking tips that are provided by the visitor centre's staff, it is easy to enjoy an active day amongst the wooded hills.

The cafe serves soup lunch. There are maps and souvenirs for sale.

Terms and conditions

1. Guaranteed departure and Saaga Travel's right to cancel the trip

Syöte Skibus is operated as a guaranteed departure. If there is one customer, the route will be operated.

We recommend to book the trip by 18.00 the night before the departure in order to be able to estimate the number of passengers and to determine the right size of the bus.

If no tickets have been booked by 22.00 the night before departure, we cancel the trip and withdraw it also from the webshop.. If tickets have been booked, we keep the sales open until the departure and tickets can be booked still on the morning of departure.

Rule of thumb: If the trip is bookable after 22.00 the night before departure, the trip is taking place. If the trip is not bookable after 22.00, trip has been canceled due to lack of participants.

2. The customer's right to cancel a trip they have already purchased

The customer has the right to cancel the booking. If a trip already purchased is canceled by the customer no later than three days before departure, we will withhold a cancellation fee of EUR 10 and refund the balance of the amount paid.

If canceled by the customer up to two days before date of departure, no fee will be refunded.

We recommend to have a travel insurance, which covers cancellation and accidents and illnesses during the trip.

3. Disclosure of information

By booking a lift ticket or equipment through us, the customer accepts the transfer of their booking information to the ski resort. The information is used to anticipate the number of lift tickets and equipment rentals purchased and to ensure the identification of those who have purchased the services at the ticket office and at the rental shop when the service is redeemed. The data will not be used for any other purpose.

4. Underaged passengers

Minors (under 18) may participate in the trip with parental permission and responsibility.
