Activities and Services at Ylläs
Downhill skiing and snowboarding
Ylläs is by far the largest ski resort in Finland.
No other resort in Finland offers such extensive slope lengths and elevation differences as those enjoyed at Ylläs. What makes it truly unique is its location between two authentic Lappish villages, allowing skiers to cruise through the slope areas of two different villages during a day of skiing. North of Yllästunturi is the Äkäslompolo slope area, and to the south is the Ylläsjärvi slope area. From the upper stations of the lifts leading to the summit, you are free to choose which area you want to ski down to at any given time.
