During the day trip to Raahe, you will experience the Seminaarimäki Christmas Market, enjoy a tasty Christmas lunch at Trade house of Lang and get to know the old Raahe with its museums.
Itinerary
at 9.00 Departure from Oulu in front of the City hall (Kirkkokatu side). Select your departure bus stop from the menu upon booking.
at 10.00 Arrival in Raahe, where we have a city tour (City tour is in Finnish. You can opt out if you do not speak Finnish).
The guided bus tour gives you time to get to know both the old and the newer part of the city. First we wander through the narrow streets of the old town to explore the former Raahe and then the route continues towards the newer settlement. During the trip you will have time to see e.g. A "beauty canal", an old teacher’s seminary, a hospital, and various neighborhoods from different decades, each telling their own story. The tour lasts an hour.
At 11.15 Christmas lunch at Trade House of Lang
Trade House of Lang (Langin Kauppahuone) offers stories and experiences from the time of sailing ships. The beautifully restored trading house continues the traditional operation of the more than 200-year-old merchant house, while telling stories about the lived life and historical figures of the trading house.

After lunch, opportunity to stop by Lang's shop and Utua's showroom / shop.

at 13.00 Traditional "Seminaarin joulu" Christmas market. The event will be held in the historic Seminar area.
The seminar’s traditional Christmas Market offers the perfect opportunity to grab last-minute gifts as well as get treats to the Christmas table.
At 14.30 Visit to the Raahe Museum (Pakkahuone Museum) or Kruununmakasiini Museum.
The Pakkahuone Museum is located in the culturally and historically valuable city customs and packaging room, built in 1848. The heart of the Pakkahuone Museum's collections consists of objects donated in the 19th century: natural wonders and utensils imported from far away, as well as exotic souvenirs. The museum's collections tell of Raahe as a city of sailors and shipbuilders.
The Kruununmakasiini Museum presents excerpts from the history of Raahe from prehistory to the present day. The departments that are now open allow you to dive into the prehistory of Raahe, for example, with the help of a scale model of the Stone Age village of Kettukangas or by performing an archeological excavation in the Tervakangas cemetery via a touch screen.
at 16.00 we leave for the return trip and stop for another Christmas cake and coffee at Cafe Leipurin Keidas.
At 17.00 we continue our return journey towards Oulu
