10.30 Departure from Oulu
Meeting place: in front of Oulu City Hall, Address Kirkkokatu 2a.
11.45 Lunch at Rokua Health & Spa Hotel
13.00 Guided Nature Excursion to Rokua UNESCO Global Geopark
Post-lunch, a short bus ride will lead us to the starting point of our excursion, where we will meet our guides, experienced forest educators and nature instructors.
Venturing into the heart of the geopark, our guided hike will take us on a 6-kilometer round trip to the summit of Pookivaara Hill. Along the trail, immerse yourself in forest yoga exercises, connecting with nature in a rejuvenating way. At Pookivaara, enjoy a scenic picnic at a wilderness hut, surrounded by the pristine beauty of the Finnish landscape.
Pookivaara Hill, at 194.2 meters above sea level, stands as the highest point of the Rokua esker area. This historical site once housed a fire guard’s hut and an observation tower, providing unparalleled views. Experience the renovated observation tower, capturing breathtaking photographs of the surrounding scenery.
Explore the traces of the Ice Age within the esker ridges, sandhills, and kettle hole lakes of Rokua, as you journey through Finland’s first UNESCO Geopark. The park’s easy trails wind through wooded sandhills adorned with silvery lichens, leading to the picturesque kettle hole lakes nestled in sandy hollows.

Terms and Cancellation
Saaga Travel Ltd. is the responsible tour operator of the trip.
You register for the trip by paying the participation fee at Saaga Travel Webshop.
Minimum number of participants and Saaga Travel’s right to cancel the trip
The realization of the trip requires a minimum number of 15 full-paying participants. If the minimum number of participants is not met by the registration deadline, Saaga Travel has the right to cancel the trip. In this case, we will notify you immediately of the cancellation by email and we will refund the payment in full.
If the minimum number of participants has been met and the trip takes place, we may continue the sale of the trip also after the registration deadline.
The customer’s right to cancel a trip they have already purchased
The passenger has the right to cancel the trip at any time before the start of the trip. In this case, a cancellation fee will be charged as follows:
a) Office costs € 30 when the trip is canceled no later than 30 days before the start of the trip
b) 50% of the price of the trip if the trip is canceled later than 30 days but no later than 14 days before the start of the trip
c) 75% of the price of the trip if the trip is canceled later than 14 days but no later than 7 days before the start of the trip
d) 100% of the price of the trip if the trip is canceled later than 7 days before the start of the trip
We recommend to have a travel insurance, which covers cancellation and accidents and illnesses during the trip.
Refunds
Payment refunds are made by the payment intermediary Paytrail. The payment will be returned to the original payment method. Usually, the refund is automatic. If the refund is not successful automatically, Paytrail will contact the customer by email and inquire about the refund account.
Disclosure of information
By booking a trip through us, the customer accepts the transfer of their necessary booking information to other service providers involved in the implementation of the trip. The information is not used for any other purpose.
