10.00 Departure from Oulu

12.00 Arrival in Iso-Syöte
Iso-Syöte, located in Northern Finland, is a captivating destination in all seasons. Canoesafari on Naamanka-lake
The water of the lake is a mirror projecting the sky and the scenery around it. A perfect and peaceful place to paddle around. The guide will teach you the basics of canoeing. The water is easy and calm so no experience is needed. The canoes are suitable for two persons, so pleasure for two! We will take care of all materials, clothing if needed, guidance and instructions. On the lake shore we will have a break to make campfire and cook coffee and eat some cakes. Most relaxing moments, that’s for sure!

Rivertubing in Iso-Syöte
Exciting experience, paddling on a rivertube down the stream of the Pärjänjoki river. Transfer to the starting place where you will get the equipment. Each one steps in their own rivertube. Let yourself float where the water takes you and control the course with your paddling. Big splashing fun for everyone, no age limit, as long as you can swim. Guide will come along and after the floating you are taken back to the hotel.

Or – afternoon at leisure: try independent walking or mountainbiking in the surrounding nature!
- Huippupolku Trail (1 km) at the peak of the Iso-Syöte fell features a magnificent view over Syöte National Park.
- You can also rent a bike (e-mountain bike/mountain bike/fatbike/gravel bike) from the hotel and explore Syöte MTB trails. Read more about the trails here. For mountain bikers with some previous experience and looking for a little challenge we recommend the Syötteen kierros 19 km circular trail. Price of bike rental is appr. 45-75 €/4 hours depending on the chosen bike type.
Evening: Finnish smoke sauna experience and Lappish kota dinner
In the serene, peaceful and natural beauty of a small lake called Hanhilampi, surrounded by trees and hills you’ll discover an authentic Finnish smoke sauna and a Lappish kota.
This magical evening begins with a rejuvenating Finnish smoke sauna, offering a unique touch of relaxation, followed by an unforgettable meal that captures the essence of Lappish culture and nature.
Resembling the iconic tepee shape of the Sami people, the kota has a big open fireplace in the centre where the cook will prepare the food. Immerse yourself in the Finnish tradition with a heartwarming wilderness dinner, illuminated by the soft glow of candles, while reindeer skins adorn the benches for a truly cozy dining experience.
Menu: Forest mushroom soup, sauteed reindeer, dessert. Dinner includes 2 drinks (beer, wine, soft drink). More drinks and sauna drinks can be bought on site.
Note: bring a bathing suit for sauna and swimming! Towels are provided.

Easiest way to enjoy beautiful sceneries and rolling hills is to take part on our electronic mountainbike / fatbike safari! Activity requires normal basic fitness and the ability to ride a bike.

Syöte Visitor Centre exhibition and self-guided hiking in Syöte National Park
Short transfer to Syöte Visitor Centre, where you can get to know the exhibition about the area’s nature (free admission) and hike on the nearby marked nature trails.
Price: free transfer, self-guided activity
Recommended trails: Naavaparta Trail (3 km, easy) or Teerivaara Trail (4,5 km, demanding). Read more about the trails here.
Or – just relax and enjoy the hotel’s Arctic Spa!

The combination of travel services offered to you is a travel package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302. Therefore, you are subject to all EU rights regarding package travel. Saaga Travel is fully responsible for the proper implementation of the entire travel package. In addition, Saaga Travel has acquired the protection required by law to refund your payment and, if transportation is included in the travel package, to secure your return transportation in the event that the company becomes insolvent. You register for the trip by paying the participation fee at Saaga Travel Webshop.
Deadline for registrations is April 4, 2024.
If you do not have a roommate, you must book a single room and pay the single supplement. We will charge the single supplement afterwards if you did not pay it when you made the reservation.
Minimum number of participants and Saaga Travel’s right to cancel the trip
The realization of the trip requires a minimum number of 16 full-paying participants. If the minimum number of participants is not met by the registration deadline, Saaga Travel has the right to cancel the trip. In this case, we will notify you immediately of the cancellation by email and we will refund the payment in full.
If the minimum number of participants has been met and the trip takes place, we may continue the sale of the trip also after the registration deadline.
Minimum and maximum number of participants for activities
Optional guided activities have minimum and maximum number of participants. If the minimum number of participants is not met, the activity will be canceled and we will refund the activity fee. If the maximum number of participants is met, we stop the sales of the activity. If activities are sold out, we reserve the right to reschedule activities and/or to offer additional activities instead.
The customer’s right to cancel a trip they have already purchased
The passenger has the right to cancel the trip at any time before the start of the trip. In this case, a cancellation fee will be charged as follows:
a) Office costs € 45 when the trip is canceled no later than 45 days before the start of the trip
b) a booking fee of 30% of the price of the trip if the trip is canceled later than 45 days but no later than 21 days before the start of the trip
c) 50% of the price of the trip if the trip is canceled later than 21 days but no later than 7 days before the start of the trip
d) 75% of the price of the trip if the trip is canceled later than 7 days but no later than 3 days before the start of the trip
e) 95% of the price of the trip if the trip is canceled later than 3 days before the start of the trip.
We recommend to have a travel insurance, which covers cancellation and accidents and illnesses during the trip.
Refunds
Payment refunds are made by the payment intermediary Paytrail. The payment will be returned to the original payment method. Usually, the refund is automatic. If the refund is not successful automatically, Paytrail will contact the customer by email and inquire about the refund account.
Disclosure of information
By booking a trip through us, the customer accepts the transfer of their necessary booking information to other service providers involved in the implementation of the trip. The information is not used for any other purpose.
